Abstract

Many students and professors have mixed experiences using team based instructional approaches and assignments (Bernhard, 2015). To combat the potential limitations and downfall of team-based approaches, some advocate for structuring teams similar to organizational teams (Gilbert, 2011). One such approach was implemented in an undergraduate eLearning course. A team structure was implemented that positioned students in a hierarchy similar to an instructional design team in an organization.
