Arthur Hoener (1933-1987) was a Brooklyn born American sculptor. He studied graphic design at the Cooper Union in New York and then went on to get his bachelors and masters degrees at Yale University. He taught at Boston University, Massachusetts College of Art, and Hampshire College, MA. Hoener was the chairman of the New England Contemporary Artists from 1963-1967. He was a recipient of the Boston Art Directors Club award with distinctive merit in 1964, 1967, 1968. He became a YADDO fellow (a retreat for artists located on a 400-acre estate in Saratoga Springs, New York) in 1968. Hoener was a trustee for the Unitarian Society in Northampton from 1974-1976.
