David Levine (1926-2009) was an American illustrator that was best known for his caricatures. After WWII, Levine joined the army and then went to back to school when he was discharged. He studied painting at Pratt Institute and Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. He was given the opportunity to audition for an animator’s position in the Disney Los Angeles Studio at the age of 9. In 1967 he was elected into the National academy of Design as an Associate member before becoming a full Academician in 1971.
