Description

Charles Méryon (1821-1868) was a French artist that specialized in etching. Meryon suffered from mental illness and he ended up dying in an asylum. The average price of one of his prints was around $1950-9754 in 2018. It was said that, “probably no other artist of genius, not even of Whistler, could there be cited within the same period a rise in prices of at all the same proportions.”
