Date of the Work
Walking the trails on the Ithaca College Natural Lands often, subtle changes in the landscape catch my attention. One day, tree was whole, standing tall and proud. The next tree was broken in half, having been eaten through on the inside by insects. Meanwhile, bench stood nearby watching, tied to an entirely different tree. I first identified with bench's captivity, and inability to move if something bad happened to tree. I then identified with tree. How strong we can all look on the outside, even though there could be lots of things chewing and eating away at our insides.
