Exploration, adaptation and expression: Women's identity work across career and family transitions
Through an investigation of the narrative identity work of 35 professional/managerial women, three identity processes were uncovered. These processes illuminate how women construct, revise and present their identities over time as they transition from students to professionals, from non-mothers to mothers, and from childless employees to combining career and family.
