Abstract
The exercise described in this article was designed to help students reflect on their existing political beliefs and gauge the way acting on these beliefs may sway the alloca tion of social resources. It is intended help students move nascent perspectives on is sues of social justice into more firmly held stances. The innovative aspect of this exer cise is that it removes the professor from being in the role of "moral authority" as it asks students to identify fundamental human rights and the types of resources an affluent society
